ADULT AUTISM ASSESSMENT PROCESS

This process includes:

Diagnostic Interview (2 hours)

Assessment (2 hours)

Questionnaires (including but not limited to areas of functioning, mental health, social communication and masking)

Feedback (approximately 4-5 weeks following the assessment)

  • Comprehensive clinical report provided

  • Feedback consultation (1 hour)

Total Fee $2100

There is a $400 non-refundable booking fee, credited to the completed assessment cost, taken at the time of booking. $850 is due at the initial interview appointment, with remaining fees being due at the final assessment appointment.

All adult autism assessment reports are reviewed and co-signed by one of our Clinical Psychologists.

OPTIONAL ADD-ONS:

Co-occurring ADHD

  • Diagnostic Interview for ADHD in adults (additional 1-2 hour session)

Extra Fee $500

Cognitive Testing

  • Cognitive ability (additional 2 hour session)

  • Cognitive report included

Extra Fee $600

NDIS Application

  • NDIS interview (additional 1 hour session)

  • Disability and Functioning assessment and questionnaires

  • NDIS Support Letter

Extra Fee $600

Durations provided above for the assessments are a guide and may vary depending on your age and abilities. Extra time may be added for more complex cases at the rate of $240 per hour. 

While we strive to provide a clear and comprehensive autism assessment process, please be aware that a psychiatrist’s confirmation may be required to formally validate the diagnosis. This is often necessary for certain services or funding bodies to recognise the assessment outcome. We can provide a list of psychiatrists for clients to contact; however, we are unable to arrange appointments or facilitate referrals on your behalf.

In addition, psychological assessments for autism do not typically attract Medicare rebates and may not be eligible for private health insurance claims. Coverage varies, so we encourage clients to check directly with their insurer regarding any potential rebates.
